A storage system for KX Lab

KX Lab is hard to explain.

It’s an experimental model of sustainable and ethical production, a research facility and a cultural center — all wrapped up in one.

It’s got a rainwater-fed garden by our friends at Terremoto and a lot of robots.

Basically, it’s a sci-fi shoe factory in the middle of LA’s Chinatown. So when they asked us to develop a transparent but discreet system for the storage of client IP, we looked at servers and supercomputers for inspiration.

Along with the biometrically controlled cabinets, we designed aluminum-extrusion worktables and carts to complete the system.
