Working in response to the post-modern architecture of the main house, we created an efficient but playful office plus guesthouse on a hillside estate in Silverlake.
A strong composition of color-blocked geometry, glass and aluminum bookshelves, and a grid of glass block windows salvaged from an earlier renovation define the space.
Meanwhile, a circular theme runs throughout: from the large round window and black coin-grip rubber flooring upstairs, to the spiral staircase, to the monolithic penny tile and curvilinear vanity in the bathroom.
